1. What can you expect when you come play with us?
You can expect an open and nurturing environment when you come to learn and play golf with us. We are all here to have fun and develop a golf game we are proud of.
Thirty minutes prior to play, Jeanne or one of her team will be at the course to help you find your way around and give a 15-20 minute talk on golf etiquette, putting, or course strategy. Each week, Jeanne will discuss a new topic _ something simple and helpful for a new golfer.
Since is later in the day, a box dinner will be available for you to purchase for $7 at most of the locations.
You will be playing in a team format and we will tee off at our designated tee time _ so it’s important for you to arrive early and be ready!
For those members not ready to start playing just yet, you can join Jeanne in a 90-minute clinic while the league is out on the course. (Click here to sign up for the clinic) Afterward, league players and clinic participants can meet up for a drink in the clubhouse!!! And come back next week and do it again!
2. Do I have to be an experienced golfer to join Jumpstart Golf for Women?
No, you do not have to be an experienced golfer. In fact, this league is open to golfers (or wannabe golfers) of all levels. Everyone is welcome and we are committed to helping you build confidence and capability in your game in a non-intimidating environment!
3. How do I sign up and pay?
First, join Jeanne Dooley’s Jumpstart Golf for Women here: put in link to the join page. Then, go to this page to sign up for each week’s league play.
4.What if it is raining?
By noon of the league play day, Jeanne will post a play or no-play due to rain on the Website. So please check the site!!
5. Do I need clubs?
Yes, you do need clubs. If you don’t have access to a set, contact Jeanne and she will help you find a set.
6. Do we keep score?
Yes, we will play a different and fun game each week and keep score as a team. We think it’s important for many reasons—the fun of it, not to mention bragging rights!
7. How should I dress?
Wear comfortable clothes—layering is a good idea in the spring and fall. Golf shoes are not necessary but are a good idea—and look good too! If you own a lightweight rain jacket please bring it (just in case).
8. How long (how many holes) will we play?
Initially, we will play for 90 minutes _ a 6-hole league. As the days get longer and you get better, we will play a 9-hole league.
